Brief History
Omolayole Fagbure & Associates Unlimited is a firm of Company Secretaries and Business Advisory Consultants which was incorporated on the 22nd of May 1987. It has therefore been in continuous service for over thirty years.
The Consultancy firm was set up mainly to make available Company Secretarial Expertise, Business Advisory Services, and Corporate Governance Audit Services to companies whether set up for profit or not, which cannot afford to commission any of the big five practices and yet greatly need such services.
Founding Directors

Mr. Fagbure
FounderHe is a 1978 graduate in Economics (specialization in Accounting), the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) Ile-Ife. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1982, and later became a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria. He was a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, as well as a former employee of Peat Marwick Casselton Elliot & Co. (now KPMG International) and Nigerian Industrial Development Bank (now Bank of Industry). He also worked with the defunct Alpha Merchant Bank PLC where he ended up as Assistant General Manager, Credit and Legal Division having earlier been the Chief Inspector.
He worked for two years in the Liquidation and Receivership Department of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation before joining his wife in private practice, for the next 21 years. He was the Managing Partner of Kunle Fagbure & Co and Chairman of Omolayole Fagbure & Associates Ultd. He attended several training programs in Nigeria and abroad including the Industrial Project Analysis and Management course, use of Computer Model for Feasibility Analysis and Reporting (COMFAR), and Financial Evaluation course on the use of Computers in the Appraisal Process run by UNIDO and Centre for the Development of Industry, Brussels. Others are computers for Bankers course at Manchester Business School. He had earlier served as the acting Chief Accountant of Bauchi Meat Products Limited between 1978 and 79, during his National Youth Service year.

Mrs. Patricia Omolara Fagbure
Founder DIrectorMrs. Patricia Omolara Fagbure trained with Coopers & Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers) between August 1980 and April 1987, having earlier carried out her Primary Assignment under the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme with the same firm. While at Coopers & Lybrand, she became a Chartered Accountant in 1982.
She is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria and is registered with the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria. Mrs. Fagbure who earlier graduated from the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) in 1979 with B.Sc Economics (Specialization in Accounting), went on to specialize in Business Advisory Services comprising Corporate Governance Expertise and Company Secretarial Practice from 1983 till 1987. She is an affiliate member of ICSA: The Chartered Governance Institute, London, UK and left Coopers & Lybrand at a managerial level, to start her own practice, OMOLAYOLE FAGBURE & ASSOCIATES ULTD in May 1987. The firm has been in business for over 32 years. The clients traverse virtually all sectors of the economy including Manufacturing, Health Care, Financial Services, Insurance, Marketing Communications, Multi-laterals, and other NGOs. In terms of business size, the firm’s experience ranges from Family-Owned Enterprises to Public Limited Companies. She writes freelance for The Guardian and Punch Newspapers. She co-authored “The Director’s First Steps” with her daughter in 2019 and is a Non-Executive Director of AFN Brokers Limited.
Mrs. Fagbure was the Treasurer of the Nigerian Girl Guides Association from 2001 to 2004. She has been Corporate Secretary to well over 100 Companies in the course of her career. In that capacity, she has interacted with the highest echelon of the corporate world, both retired and serving.
